Update

Workflows Now Automatically Assign Contributors

🌟 What’s new?

Workflow steps that require assignees — for translation or review — now automatically assign contributors based on their language and role. This matches the logic used in task creation and eliminates the need for manual assignment.

Note: Currently, you need to navigate to the specific translation or review task step for assignees to populate. This will be fixed in a future update.

🎯 Why it matters to you?

You’ll save time and effort, especially when working with many target languages, as contributors are assigned automatically. This makes workflow setup faster, reduces errors, and keeps your localization process moving smoothly.

Enhanced AI Style Guide Synthesis for Better Translation Context

🌟 What’s new?

We’ve enhanced how AI uses your Style Guide to provide context for translations with a new AI synthesis prompt based on comprehensive analysis of existing style guide patterns and AI translation performance.

The improved synthesis better extracts actionable translation guidance while filtering out redundant or confusing information that could negatively impact AI translation quality.

Key improvements include:

  • Eliminates redundant grammatical rules that AI models already know (punctuation patterns, date formats, measurement units)
  • Removes tautologies and content-less information that can confuse translation models
  • Better focuses on subjectively-verifiable style elements like tone, formality, and audience-specific language
  • Provides clearer, more concise guidance that translates to better AI translation outcomes

🎯 Why it matters

This improvement directly enhances the quality of AI translations by providing more focused and actionable style guide context.

You’ll see more consistent adherence to your brand voice and style preferences in AI-generated translations, while reducing noise from irrelevant or contradictory style instructions that previously diluted translation quality.

This means more natural, consistent translations right out of the box, saving you time on edits and reviews.

Want to see it in action? Watch this quick demo where Adam Ĺ oltys, Senior Lead Product Manager at Lokalise, shows the new improvements on the Style Guide as context for AI translations.

Organize your Contentful localization your way—with multiple Lokalise projects

🌟 What’s new?

  • Run different workflows for different types of content.
  • Assign the right people to the right projects—without overloading them.
  • Set up automations tailored to how each content type gets localized.
  • Scale with clarity—no more cluttered, one-size-fits-all projects.
  • It’s a simple way to bring structure to the chaos and localize smarter across your organization.

Workflows Now Trigger Only on Content Update

🌟 What’s new?

We’ve improved the “Updated keys” filter logic in Workflows. From now on, workflows will only trigger when the base language value of a key is updated. Changes to metadata—like tags, comments, or other non-content attributes—will no longer trigger a workflow run.

🎯 Why it matters

This change helps reduce unnecessary workflow executions, keeping your localization process more focused and efficient. Teams will benefit from fewer distractions and better resource management, especially when working on large projects or with automation-heavy setups. Your workflows will now respond only to meaningful content changes.

AI Translation Scoring & Threshold-Based Workflow Automation

🌟 What’s new?

We’re introducing AI-driven scoring for AI translations combined with workflow automation based on quality thresholds (currently in Beta):

  • Every AI-generated string in a translation task is now assigned an quality score based on the MQM framework.
  • You can set a threshold in your workflow so that only translations scoring below the threshold are sent for human review.
  • Manual scoring is also available directly in the editor

🎯 Why it matters

This feature empowers teams to:

  • Cut review costs by automating quality filtering
  • Make smarter decisions about which content truly needs human review
  • Unlock low-priority languages that were previously cost-prohibitive
  • Support reviewers with clearer scoring guidance and issue suggestions
