Which Lokalise plans include Analytics?

Analytics dashboards are available for all Trial, Free, Start, Essential, Pro, and Enterprise customers.

Enterprise customers have a detailed task table with a download option for in-depth analysis. There are various filters to choose from, some of which are only available on the Enterprise plan. You can filter:
- By date and target language, available on all plans
- By project, project id, project tags, key tags, contributors, and task type, available on Enterprise plan only.

Who has access to the dashboard data?

Anyone with ‘team admin’ permissions can access Lokalise Analytics.    However, you can export specific charts locally and share results in .csv, .xslx, or .json if you are on the Enterprise plan.

Is Lokalise Analytics updated in real time?

Boards are updated every 24 hours, which gives you the necessary data to make the right decisions.

How is Analytics different from project statistics?

Project statistics shows you data for individual projects and is only available on the Essential, Pro and Enterprise plans, whereas Lokalise Analytics shows you data for all projects teams are working on and is available on all plans.  

Unlike project statistics, Lokalise Analytics lets you filter and narrow down your data and projects by content type, launch, campaign, and much more. Lokalise Analytics gives you actionable insights about your tasks across different projects, while project statistics provides no data about tasks.

What is a translation method?

A translation method is how you translate a key (piece of text).

Here are the methods you might use:

⚠️ Note that translation memory, machine translation, and Lokalise AI suggestions will only show up on the Lokalise Analytics dashboard when applied on file upload, automation, or bulk action — not when used individually from the right-hand side panel in Lokalise editor.

- Translation memory (TM): translations that are automatically saved and reused
- Machine translation (MT): translations generated by built-in tools like Google Translate and DeepL
- Lokalise AI: translations generated by our powerful multi-engine GenAI tool
Human translation: translations performed by a a human translator
API: translations set through Lokalise APIv2.
Offline — translations made offline and uploaded via an XLIFF file.
Import — translations imported from any external source, including Lokalise APIv2, GitHub, Zendesk, etc.
Other — includes all other activities, such as copying keys between projects, pseudolocalization, find and replace, and restoring translations from history.

Translation method graphs help you evaluate and choose the most effective method based on translations that require the least amount of edits.

How is the number of words translated calculated?

While there are differences in word counts between base languages and target languages, we only look at the number of base words translated as a key metric to calculate how many words were translated.

What is the edit rate?

The edit rate by translation method shows the monthly edit rates for each translation method. It indicates how many translations were edited by a reviewer — the fewer the translations edited, the better the initial translation quality.

What is the average edit distance?

Average edit distance shows how much a translation was changed by the reviewer using the Levenshtein method. This could be a minor change, like altering a single letter, or a major one, like rewriting the entire translation. See all the changes that we consider.

What do we not support?

Translation methods, edits, and tasks are only available for the master version or branch of your project. The only data that will show up from other branches is the volume of translations merged into the master branch. This volume will be labelled as “Other” translation method.
