A translation method is how you translate a key (piece of text).
Here are the methods you might use:
⚠️ Note that translation memory, machine translation, and Lokalise AI suggestions will only show up on the Lokalise Analytics dashboard when applied on file upload, automation, or bulk action — not when used individually from the right-hand side panel in Lokalise editor.

Translation memory (TM): translations that are automatically saved and reused

Machine translation (MT): translations generated by built-in tools like Google Translate and DeepL

Lokalise AI: translations generated by our powerful multi-engine GenAI tool
Human translation: translations performed by a a human translator
API: translations set through
Lokalise APIv2.
Offline — translations made
offline and uploaded via an XLIFF file.
Import — translations imported from any external source, including Lokalise APIv2,
GitHub,
Zendesk, etc.
Other — includes all other activities, such as copying keys between projects,
pseudolocalization,
find and replace, and restoring translations from
history.
Translation method graphs help you evaluate and choose the most effective method based on translations that require the least amount of edits.
