Welcome to Humans of Lokalise. We’re building a culture here at Lokalise where amazing people (like you) can do their best work. Stay tuned to get to know our team, one person at a time.

Culture is shaped by people, and we have some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.

Aleksandrs Pereverzevs, Product Lead

What do you do at Lokalise?

I’m a Product Lead and my main responsibility is to connect the dots.

I take in a torrent of brilliant ideas from our team, valuable feedback from our knowledgeable customers, and make decisions that will move our product forward. One of the biggest challenges is staying focused and filtering down to the information that will help me make the best decisions. It’s not easy, but it’s interesting.

Tell us about your journey at Lokalise.

I was the 18th employee to join the team and became Lokalise’s first Customer Success Manager. My role was to speak to our customers and ensure they got the maximum value out of our product. Eventually, I used this knowledge to build a Customer Success team, dedicated to helping our existing and future customers break down language barriers.

With the team built and working well, I sought to apply my knowledge and replicate my success elsewhere, which led to me joining the Product team. It has been a very exciting journey that has taught me countless valuable lessons and allowed me to push myself to the next level.

How would you describe working here?

Culture is shaped by people, and we have some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. At Lokalise, we’re honest, humble, curious, and ambitious. These traits create an atmosphere that inspires innovation and an open environment where ideas are shared freely, and everyone can contribute toward the team’s success.

Lokalise is also the most fast-paced environment I’ve ever worked in. This means continuous learning, self-development, and opportunities for self-realization.

On the other hand, working in a fast-paced environment can be challenging. You need to know when to slow down in order not to burn out. The good news is, everyone understands this and is ready to support you when you need to recharge your batteries.

What is your favorite thing about Lokalise?

It’s definitely the people. I’ve had the privilege to work with some of the brightest people I’ve ever come across. I’ve learned so much from my colleagues and I know I can always count on them to have my back. Even working remotely, we manage to have fun together by participating in trivia quizzes or watching Ice Hockey Championship games together over Zoom.

I’m continuously impressed by how we manage to attract the best talent. The new people joining Lokalise are always raising the bar, which means you have to step it up as well if you don’t want to fall behind. Their diverse backgrounds also enhance our understanding of software internationalization (i18n), enabling us to approach projects with a more global perspective.

What advice would you give to someone starting in a remote-first company?

Be prepared to fight through mood swings. Sometimes remote work is exciting and brings opportunities that you would otherwise miss, such as traveling and spending more time with the family. Other times, you can feel lonely due to a lack of face-to-face human interaction. Try to balance this out by adjusting your routine – go for a walk in the middle of the day, change your working environment from time to time, and so on.

It’s easy for work and life to blend together when your living space is your working space and you’re online almost all the time. So, learn how to create clear boundaries between your work and personal life, both in time and in space.

Please share one fact about you that we won’t find on your LinkedIn profile! ????

I’m a soccer enthusiast. Working together with a close group of friends, we have organized an amateur indoor soccer league in Latvia, managed to attract some sponsors, created a strong community, and we even live-stream all the games.
