At Lokalise, I feel like I’m supported every step of the way.
Alice Domingues, Technical Customer Support Specialist
What do you do at Lokalise?
I’m part of the Technical Customer Support team. My teammates and I tackle technical issues, squash bugs, and answer questions from our customers.
As the job title suggests, there are two main elements to my work – I work with computers and with people. There’s a lot of technical knowledge required in my role, but knowing how to talk to people and making the effort to develop relationships with each individual customer is also super important. I appreciate that I get to learn something new every day within a team that truly cares about their customers.
Tell us about your journey at Lokalise.
From the very first interviews and training sessions, it felt like a match. I joined a few months ago and during my early days at Lokalise, I quickly learned that I can fully rely on my teammates, and I’ve felt continuous support from the company and management.
Next up, I’m making plans with our development team to dive deeper into software development, while also looking to better understand how people management works with the help of my manager. Let’s see what the future holds! 😊
How would you describe working here?
At Lokalise, I feel like I’m supported every step of the way. From day one, I’ve had onboarding plans, training materials, and brilliant colleagues not just helping me along but including me in a team that plays to win.
I love that I’m free to try new things and approaches in my daily work, with the team’s continuous feedback encouraging me to explore further, reach higher, and do better. Every day, I have something to learn, someone to help, and new challenges to solve, resulting in a rewarding routine that constantly pushes me to grow.
What is your favorite thing about Lokalise?
The trust we have in each other.
What advice would you give to someone starting in a remote-first company?
A remote-first company usually promotes the idea of flexibility – set up your home office however you like and work however is most comfortable for you. Lokalise improves that concept by providing you with the office equipment and tools you need to ensure you can work safely and flexibly, and so much more.
For a healthy remote work-life balance, exercise is key. Even the small daily activities such as walking to a meeting or going for lunch need to be compensated for. Stretching before you start your work and exercising afterward can drastically improve your quality of life. You’ll pay more attention to details, your mind will be better organized, and the breaks you take will be more relaxing.
Please share one fact about you that we won’t find on your LinkedIn profile!
I’m an audiophile! Nothing compares to the feeling of wearing my ATH-50x headphones, turning the volume up and down on the Nano iDSD Black Label DAC, and listening to a good FLAC in 24-bit audio. From Led Zeppelin, Bowie, and Tom Jobim to Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga, songs I’ve been listening to for decades can still manage to send a shiver down my spine. Sorry, I think I got a little carried away…
