Zen Lenon, Account Executive:

What do you do at Lokalise?

I’m an account executive based in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m responsible for deconstructing a prospect’s current localization flows and pain points to help them define the best solution.

In a nutshell: Our team leads the charge on generating net new revenue.

The best part of my work? When a prospect becomes a customer. I get to see them grow exponentially by acquiring global users. Since language is a critical part of user experience, Lokalise is uniquely positioned to fuel our customer's hockey stick growth. Exciting!

Tell us about your journey at Lokalise.

The pandemic crushed a startup I founded called “ClosedWon.” Our advisor at the time, PandaDoc’s CEO Mikita Mikado, recommended 6 startups as a potential introduction. For me, it was a no-brainer. He introduced me to our founders, Petr and Nick, in March 2020, and the rest is history. ????

How would you describe working here?

The culture is warm and inviting with a splash of Bay Area-vibe efficiency. My teammates are minimalistic and sophisticated with clever blends of humor. Our connections are bona fide fun and intriguing. I haven't met anyone in person yet, so I'm excited to finally meet the beautiful people behind our beautiful product at our next company offsite.

Like in all great startups, there are tough conversations. But Lokalise fosters a culture of diverse thought – we always come out of challenging conversations cozier and stronger than ever before. Our founders have made it clear that we can say yes to the right opportunities and say no to the wrong opportunities when there is direction. 

What is your favourite thing about working at Lokalise?

Besides having the power to work from anywhere in the world, my favourite thing about Lokalise is that everyone is a leader who shares the same dream: to build a diverse, inclusive world where language doesn’t limit choice. Since English is my second language, this is a vision that I want to fight for. It's universally impactful.

What advice would you give to someone starting in a remote-first company?

Over-communicate, learn fast, learn often, and most importantly, don't take things personally. Life is short. Words can be read wrong and written wrong. That's what Lokalise is working to solve. For now, let's have fun growing and helping each other along the way.
