Before, when copying and pasting Frames or Artboards, all translation keys would become unlinked from their source, creating unnecessary manual work and potential inconsistencies.
Now, all translation keys remain linked when duplicating design elements, ensuring consistency and saving valuable time.
What’s changing?
All translation keys will be linked when duplicating design elements. This means:
- When you copy and paste Frames or Artboards, all keys will remain linked
- When you duplicate an entire page, all translation links are preserved
- When you copy elements or components to another page, the links stay intact
Why this matters
This update eliminates the tedious process of manually re-linking translation keys after duplication, directly improving:
- Workflow efficiency: No more manual work to reconnect translations
- Design consistency: Reduced risk of missing translated elements
- Team collaboration: Smoother handoffs between design and localization
This enhancement is being rolled out platform-wide this week. There’s nothing you need to do to activate it—the functionality will automatically be available in your Figma workspace.
Simply duplicate your designs as you normally would, and you’ll notice that translation keys remain connected without any additional steps.
